Handspun Muga Ghicha Silk
This fine Handspun Muga Ghicha Silk Yarn, spun from the leftover silk threads after the silk is reeled from the cocoons.
A gorgeous rich golden brown colour, Muga Silk was originally only for royalty.
A beautiful fine natural silk with variations in tone and texture, which is what I love about a handspun yarn, particularly silk.
There is a little seracin in the fibre, which is the protein from the silkworm. This breaks down in warm soapy water.
Suitable for weaving, for fine knitting and crochet, embroidery and applique, and any creation that would be enhanced with a touch of this unique golden silk.
Non-superwash.
